Your opportunity to give me a little dig out and get your name/picture/company logo and good luck message emblazoned on the side of the boat.

How it works ….

First 100 to make a donation become members of the Bendigedig Ton Up Club. Send me in JPEG, Word or Excel a 4″ by 6″ landscape only, of your logo, name, message, picture etc and I will make up a “wrap”, for the side of the boat, incorporating all 100. You are part of the team, welcome aboard. At this stage I’m still hatching plans for membership benefits, you can help me here by making suggestions. Typically I’m thinking, a visit to your school, visit the boat, branded team kit, or even a sail on Bendigedig

  • £1.00 – will get me a big bowl of delicious porridge, with extra sultanas and a big dollop of honey
  • £2.50 – a freeze dried lunch or supper. Does not sound as good as the porridge but more of those essential calories “In the Southern Ocean you can burn up between 5,000 and 8,000 a day !!”
  • £5.00 – average price for a meter of high tech halyard, line or sheet, what sailors call ropes. I’m told that the only rope on a boat is the one attached to the bell.
  • £10.00 – a fire extinguisher. I need a minimum of 3 of these plus a fire blanket
  • £20.00 – a single safety flare. As per the regulations a total of 20 flares required of 4 different types. Lets hope I only need 2 of these when I cross the finish line.
  • £50.00 – a basic first aid kit.
  • £100.00 – communication charges for a month
  • £600.00 – an EPIRB, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon, which is a safety device carried by a vessel to alert search and rescue services, allowing them to quickly locate you in the event of an emergency. When activated it transmits a coded message on the 406 MHz distress frequency which is monitored by the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system
  • £1,000.00 – a liferaft, we need 2 of these

There are two options to sign up as a member. The easiest way to join the club is click on this link Dafydd Hughes Entry Fees Fundraiser – Global Solo Challenge and follow the instructions. This will off set your “membership” fee against my entry fee. Secondly, and more personal, is to sponsor a particular piece of equipment. To do this either contact me using this link Contact – Bendigedig Sailing with a budget and I will get back to you with a short list of options available; or just simple click on the donate button below.

Thanks a million : )

Some examples below of what the 4″x 6″ sections of the overall wrap will look like.
